AP: Akbar’s ‘feeble’ voice recorded
Nirmal police on Tuesday filed a petition in the court of the Judicial First Class Magistrate (JFCM) K. Ajesh Kumar for calling the tapes of debates in A.P. Legislative Assembly in which Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi had participated. The legislator’s debates in Urdu language, as well as samples of his voice collected in the court in the presence of a couple of experts from the AP Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) during the day would be used to match the voice in CDs of the alleged Nirmal hate speech. Meanwhile, the JFCM extended the judicial remand of Mr. Owaisi by another 14 days up to February 19. His earlier remand period expired on Tuesday. Amid tight security, the MLA was brought to the JFCM court from the district jail, Adilabad in the morning to give his voice sample. The proceedings were video taped under the supervision of the APFSL experts.
