The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has decided to mount pressure on the ruling party MLAs of the region by taking up a series of protest programmes in their constituencies from February 16 to 21. Giving the details to reporters in Hyderabad, TJAC leaders C. Vittal, V. Srinivas Goud and A. Dayakar said posters would be displayed and pamphlets distributed in the MLAs’ constituencies on February 16 demanding them to quit their posts and join the movement for statehood since their party had failed to keep its word on Telangana. Protests with black flags (Feb. 17), bike rallies (Feb. 18), writing postcards to MLAs (Feb. 19), burning effigies of MLAs (Feb. 20) and protests by lighting up candles in memory of Telangana martyrs (Feb. 21) would be taken up on the following days.
